NEW! Drop Down Now Included In Vertex

This month another new addition to the Vertex Framework is the S5 Ultimate Drop Down. This is a feature that was seen in several Shape 5 designs. Many have asked how to add to other designs so we decided to build this into the framework so every design here on out will have this functionality. 2016 Principal’s Writing Competition: To thine own self be true!

This year’s Principal’s Writing Competition is on again!

Your written piece can take on any style, mode or genre, but needs to respond in a creative way to the prompt: That’s the Spirit! Perhaps it’s a story of triumph? Success? Finding inner strength? Or perhaps it’s another zombie story?!

All you need to do is to send your submission to before Friday 14th October to be in the running.

All entries will be posted onto this website.

Entry requirements

  • The submission needs address the topic ‘To thine own self be true!’
  • The submission can be about a person, a place, object or anything that reflects the topic.
  • The submission can take the form of a story, poetry, graphic story, essay, lyrics, speech or a play.
  • The submission should not be longer than 2,000 words. There is no minimum word count.

The submissions will be judged on creativity, consideration of the topic and uniqueness.


Terms and Conditions of Entry

      1. All students at Buckley Park College are invited to entry the competition.
      2. The principal will judge the submissions and announce the winners on 16th November.
      3. All submissions will be published online on the Centre of Young Writers website.
      4. The submission must be the entrant’s own work.
      5. The judges’ decision is final.
      6. Entries must be received to the email address by 5pm on Friday 14th October 2016.
